An exclusive group tour of Foulis Castle, the private family home of the Chiefs of the Clan Munro (Monroe) for over 700 years, conducted by Hector Munro of Foulis, 33rd hereditary Clan Chief of the Munros, his mother Mrs Eleanor Munro of Foulis or a member of the family. But its main attraction to most visitors is that it is a real home, not a museum. Outside there are fine courtyard gardens and Highland Cattle grazing in the park. Although not hitherto open to the general public, it has very successfully hosted a number of exclusive groups from cruise ships over the past 5 years. Prices Tour of Foulis Castle and gardens with the Clan Chief and his mother lasting about one and a half hours, including morning coffee/afternoon tea will be £17.50 per person with a minimum group charge of £350. As this is an exclusive personal tour and an unique opportunity to learn about the area, its history, culture and natural environment, along with fascinating stories of a typical Scottish Clan - the Munros or Monroes, one of whose most famous clansmen was James Monroe 5th President of the United States, the Chief prefers to limit numbers to a maximum of 40 persons. Minimum group charge - £350
Additional Activities
Three Course Luncheon Dinner A seated luncheon dinner served in the Castle dining room with the Chief for between 20-30 persons can be laid on with a variety of menus from around £45 per person. Can also be laid on in the Castle Park - Subject to availability. Prices on application £200
NB. As this is the Clan seat we try to make an exception for individual Clan Munro members & smaller groups of Munros who are especially welcome and can usually be accommodated on giving at least 48 hours notice but to avoid disappointment it is best to write well in advance of your intended visit giving alternative dates. We make no charge for these visits but there is a donations box the proceeds of which go to The Clan Munro (Association) Foulis Castle Restoration & Maintenance Fund (Scottish Charity No. 003688). |
