The Perfect Holiday Location Within historic Foulis Castle itself there are two self-contained, private, self-catering apartments available for holiday and weekend breaks, the latter normally out of season. The apartments each have separate entrances and are located on either side of the Castle Courtyard over looking the gardens. The Pavilion is a comfortable and spacious two bedroomed apartment ideal for family holidays and short breaks. The Bake House completed for 2008, sleeps up to eight in considerable luxury. Foulis Castle is well located being just 45 minutes from Inverness Airport and has stunning views of the fertile Black Isle and beyond. The Castle is within easy reach of historical landmarks including Culloden Battlefield, other fascinating Castles such as Dunrobin Castle, Cawdor Castle and the Castle of Mey, wonderful gardens which can be found at The National Trust Inverewe, Attadale, Cawdor Gardens, Speyside Heather Centre and the Floral Gardens in Inverness. Golf Courses abound from the world famous links at Dornoch and Nairn to the less well known but equally challenging courses at Brora, Tain, Invergordon, Alness, Strathpeffer, Muir of Ord and Fortrose all within a short drive. Many sporting opportunities are also available locally with shooting, stalking and fishing on neighbouring estates. Local distilleries, Glen Ord, Dalmore and Glenmorangie all have interesting visitor centres. Inverness, Dingwall, Strathpeffer, Beauly, Tain, Rosemarkie and many of the small towns and villages offer a wide range of shopping experience and opportunities to eat out. Within less than a mile from the Castle itself and part of Foulis Estate is the award winning Storehouse of Foulis restaurant, farm shop with a fascinating multi-media exhibition on the history of the Clan Munro and the locality housed in the historic Storehouse. |
